We are happy to assist students in their return to complete their undergraduate degree after a temporary leave of absence. The following information is intended as a guide for students who have previously been enrolled in the residential undergraduate program on the Macon campus.*
*If the cause of your absence is a suspension, contact the appropriate Dean/Associate Dean prior to pursuing the steps below.
Students should submit the Readmission Form to the Office of the Registrar.
After your form has been approved and processed, you will receive confirmation to your Mercer email account.
An Advising hold will be placed on your account when you are readmitted. Contact your Academic Advisor to discuss your courses for the upcoming semester.
Check MyMercer to see whether you have any additional holds that must be resolved prior to registering.
After resolving account holds, register for your courses via MyMercer during Open Registration after Priority Registration concludes.
ADDITIONAL STEPS
The following steps may not apply to every student. Please work with appropriate staff member(s) to ensure you have completed all procedures that are necessary for your return.
If you have not completed FAFSA for the current academic year, visit studentaid.gov and complete your FAFSA. Note: Your financial aid estimate will be posted on your MyMercer account after it is processed, and you will be notified via your Mercer email address.
If you previously received your financial aid estimate notification for the current academic year (e.g., if you withdrew during the fall semester and are returning for the spring), contact the Office of Student Financial Planning to determine whether your spring estimate has been affected.
If you have taken courses at any other institution(s) during your leave of absence, send your final transcript(s) to Mercer as soon as possible. Your enrollment credits and financial aid could be affected.
If you plan to live on campus or in the Lofts, notify Housing and Residence Life at residencelife@mercer.edu of your intention to return to on-campus housing.
If you previously completed a housing contract for the current year, Housing and Residence Life will re-activate the contract for you. If you have not completed a current Housing Contract, you will need to do so via MyMercer (upon logging in, select “Macon Housing”).
All re-enrolled students will be manually assigned to an available space on campus/Lofts.
